Just today I was reading about the use of wild animals in circuses... not only do they live in narrow cages, etc., but apparently two-thirds of them have serious medical problems as well... Circuses, aerial artists and clowns have been on my mind a lot since Saturday, when we went to watch a Cirque du Soleil show (they don&#039;t have performing animals). Synchronicity again!</description>

I had never written a book before but was inspired by a real sea turtle. My problem was how do I get children to understand the sea turtles pain, and joy, without convincing children they wanted a turtle.</description>
